Sophie Jeffries

Sophie is a postnatal doula, pilates teacher, shiatsu therapist, and mother - a gentle advocate for mothers finding wholeness in their bodies, their communities, and in relationship with the land they call home.

Her approach is grounded and multidimensional, blending bodywork, movement, and ritual with a deep respect for the physical and emotional transformations that follow birth. Through her sessions and community work, Sophie supports mothers to reconnect with their strength, wisdom, and belonging during the tender postnatal months and beyond.

Sophie brings together training and experience across rehabilitation, pilates, and traditional bodywork with a rich understanding of circle, ceremony, and community care. This unique blend allows her to create nurturing spaces that honour rest, reconnection, and recovery - spaces where mothers can be witnessed, held, and deeply supported in the rebuilding of their Motherbody.

Her work is also rooted in social justice and body sovereignty, acknowledging how mothers’ bodies are often undervalued or overlooked in modern culture. Sophie’s mission is to help mothers reclaim their bodies as sources of wisdom and power - not problems to be fixed - and in doing so, help reframe how we view care, recovery, and motherhood itself.

With a special interest in postnatal recovery and the prevention of birth-related injuries and trauma, Sophie guides mothers through gentle movement, body awareness, and restorative touch. Each session is an invitation to tend to the Motherbody with compassion and curiosity, replacing pressure with presence and perfectionism with understanding.

She believes that the period after giving birth is not just about recovery, but about reconnection - to oneself, to the community, and to the rhythms of life that sustain us. In this space, mothers are supported to slow down, rebuild strength, and rediscover joy in their evolving bodies.

Sophie’s hope is that more mothers experience this path of re-embodiment and renewal - and in doing so, help shape a culture that truly values care, nurturance, and the people who give so much of it.
