Prenatal Yoga | Wed 6pm | Sat 8.45am

Pregnant Woman Practicing Yoga

Prenatal Yoga classes specifically designed for the journey of pregnancy. Curated to be a therapeutic blend of bodywork, breath and meditation, interweaving childbirth education, Prenatal Yoga will physically and mentally prepare you for birth. There is a focus on active birth techniques, relaxation as well as wisdom and knowledge that will support you through each stage of your pregnancy and birthing journey. Linking yoga postures with the breath will lead you to new discoveries, bringing awareness to the mind, body and spirit.

The intention is to instill you with the courage, confidence and trust to combine comprehensive understanding together with your instinct and intuition when birthing your baby. Our teacher, Sue Lee brings in over 20 years of experience in specialised bodywork therapies, natural health modalities and a passion for working with expectant mothers. She has trained with many renowned experts in the field of pre and postnatal therapy, bodywork and yoga. Our classes can be joined anytime after the first trimester.

During live classes, places are strictly limited and we ask that you are completely well when attending the class.

Prenatal Pilates | Mon 6.30pm

Prenatal Pilates classes are all about how to release and relax you body for birth. To make birth easier on your body and for your baby.

We'll cover:

  • How to release tension from your pelvis and pelvic floor.

  • How to lengthen you pelvic floor muscles.

  • How to use movement to create more space in your pelvis to help your baby be born.

A weekly movement class is an excellent way to prepare for birth, because it takes weeks and months for your body to change. To build strength, to release tension. It takes practice for you to remember what movements you can take with you into birth. It takes repetition to habituate your body to particular positions, sensations and movements so that during birth, your body knows what to do to help your baby be born.

Mums & Bubs Yoga in studio - 8 week terms

Pregnancy Yoga

Mums and bubs yoga is a weekly space to fill your own well and re-centre. The practice supports mother and baby bonding and is a way to spend time with other mums in your area. The practice focuses on strengthening and stabilising the core and pelvic floor, and opening the shoulders and upper back.

At any time you are welcome to attend to your baby by rocking, feeding or changing them in the studio. Each class completes with a guided relaxation and short, seated meditation.

The class is suitable to attend anytime from 6 weeks after a vaginal birth and 8 to 10 weeks after a Caesarean birth. After a Caesarean, please confirm with your midwife or your GP/OB to make sure that your body has began to heal enough that you can safely practice yoga. You are welcome to continue until your baby is at trotting age.

Mums and bubs pilates is a weekly class to help you care for and tend to your incredible mamabody.

This eight week course will introduce you to the foundations of core recovery that are essential for every mum after having a baby.

You’ll release hunched shoulders, unwind tight hips and low backs, and begin to restore your core from the inside out. You’ll learn exercises to safely build strength and you’ll take away simple tools to help care for your body in your everyday mamalife.

This class supports pelvic floor and core recovery, and is a lovely way to spend time with other mums in your area. Each session is held with the babies on the mothers mat. At any time you’re welcome to attend to your baby by feeding, rocking, or changing them in the studio.

The class is suitable to attend anytime from 6 weeks after a vaginal birth and 8 to 10 weeks after a Caesarean birth. After a Caesarean, please confirm with your midwife or your GP/OB to make sure that your body has begun to heal enough that you can safely practice restorative postnatal pilates. You’re welcome to continue until your baby is eagerly mobile.

No refunds. But if you miss a class, you’re welcome to join one of Sophie’s online postnatal pilates classes as a catch up class. These run on Saturday mornings on Zoom.

Dynamic Hatha Yoga Online - on a break until mid-2022

Woman in a Yoga Pose

In-person & Online Dynamic Hatha Yoga Casual Class

Thursdays 6:15pm - 7:45pm AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time)

In this class you will receive experienced teaching and delve into all aspects of yoga from the physical to the spiritual.

My intention for this new Dynamic Hatha Yoga class is to nurture a community of students who are sincere in learning more about yoga and deepening both their asana and spiritual practice based on non-dual Tantra teachings and practices.

This class is for intermediate or more advanced stages of practice as we will regularly delve into inversions, backbends and balancing poses as well as chanting scared mantras, pranayama, meditation and view teachings/contemplations!

Cultivating a healthy and strong body is a necessary aspect of the path so expect rich

teaching cues that will help guide you to experience all asanas in their fullness, whilst making space for your individual ability and body type.

And if you are not quite there yet with your asana or spiritual practice, I encourage you to first attend at least three or four beginner courses with me prior to joining this class!

Testimonials

I have been doing Sues Prenatal Yoga classes, and the education you receive through is like no other. It is like having your own Doula weaving labor techniques through your sessions. I loved her education so much myself and my husband just completed her private 2 hour birthing education class. It was the most information I have received my whole pregnancy and left me feeling empowered going into my birth. My husband could not speak more highly of the education he received and now feels he understands how he can better support me. Thank you so much Sue!
